About Seeds of Peace

Background

In the past two years there has been a seemingly unstoppable escalation of violence the world over. Yet, amid all this violence and bloodshed, Seeds of Peace represents one of the few examples of hope, of conflicting sides coming together and sharing constructive dialogue. Last summer in Maine, for the tenth year, a new generation of teenagers who have been witness to a year of unrivalled hatred and fear met each other for the first time. They came to learn the tools of tolerance and coexistence, to break the cycles of stereotypes and violence in their own lives, and to collaborate and cooperate in finding The Path To Peace.

The Path to Peace is a full-length documentary film based on the Seeds of Peace camp in Maine. The film is an intimate and candid document of the incredible stories and experiences at the heart of Seeds of Peace and it shows exactly how it feels to come from a war zone surrounded by hatred and violence and learn to coexist with "The Enemy." It is a fascinating first-person testament that reveals how, with effort and determination, a peaceful future may be achieved.

Principal photography occurred during sessions held in the summer of 2002 and editing commenced in April of 2003. The film is on track for release in late 2003.
